The time has come to say goodbye, to Learning 2.0

All good things must come to pass, I have sampled, each and everything, liked all, and will sample further, there are other items that I didn't even get to really play with (did I say play) I meant study. The last item is a reflection on the program, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the organisers, I just wish I had more time. I think I would have also enjoyed a session on creating web pages, as well as creating the blog, and I would have liked to be able to align all my posts, but alas. I have only one other thing to do, say goodbye. (psst I will have a look at twitter and tweets, at a later date. My supervisor, wants me to end my journey.

Catablogs_Archive2.0

One of my RSS feeds Genealogy Insider, talks about catablogs the blog is dated 30th September, the following is part of the blog.
Part Library Catalog, Part Blog = Catablog
Posted by Diane
I learned a new word this week. I read about catablogs on the Archives 2.0 wiki (about libraries that use Web 2.0 technologies).

A catablog, the wiki explains, is a library blog that provides short descriptions of collections in blog posts. The posts are tagged and categorized so visitors can easily find topics they’re interested in.

The library materials themselves aren’t on catablogs, but you can use the catablog post to find out what’s in a collection and link to a library catalog listing or finding aid for the item.

Librarything

Could be of use.
Now where do I start?
How long do I have?
Maybe I should start small. I can do that. So I registered and added 3 titles to the Librarything, now all I need to do is edit them with the correct, publication details etc, etc.

Podcasts

Checked out a couple the Global News, was interesting, however I also tried a Rock n roll podcast, that contains 167 episodes, I could not load an episode without it continually stopping, this seems to nullify any enjoyment I thought I would have received listening.
Need to have a chat with John and see if it is a technical problem.

Zohowriter,: well that was different, I may find it useful, after I have played with it a bit, probably when I have to prepare a document while I am on the desk, or at home. I must try the Google docs and Google speeadsheets, now.
Today I will be attempting Zoho Writer, could possibly try to download a podcast, and even do the Library thing.

Psst! I'll tell you a secret. This could be an interesting day!!!

Visited a great wiki today

I visited a Jewish genealogy wiki, follow this lead, I have not added to the wiki it stands alone, I have supplied Anne and Rebekah with a printout, we might even add it to Buddy as a resource.
Today I played around some more.
Thanks very much to Grant, I have now added music to my blog.
Next I might try a link to the abc, and see what happens.

Well yesterday I had an enjoyable day

Yesterdays events, first I added the fish, then I added a spreadsheet, and after that I added a calendar with time. Then I played around somemore (when you visit please feed the fish, a couple of clicks of the mouse pad, will feed sufficiently, Thank you)

I have now added a slide show, that can be added to by using Picaso

In the next few days I will be attempting to add word documents, and spreadsheets to this blog.

Should be interesting, it may take a while to get it right.
